Intraoperative Neurophysiology in Neurosurgery : the Essentials

14 - 16 June 2015 Verona, Italy

It is widely acknowledged that intraoperative neuro-monitoring/mapping has become an increasingly important tool for neurosurgeons in all subspecialist fields. In recognition of this field’s growing significance, the EANS has put together a symposium specifically designed to address the topic from a uniquely neurosurgical perspective.

This event combines a comprehensive presentation of state of the art intraoperative neurophysiological techniques by the neurophysiologists who have developed the field, with practical advice from neurosurgeons who have been making use of these techniques for many years.

The respective roles of the neurophysiologist and neurosurgeon will be considered, alongside the credentials and training required for the activity, and associated medico-legal and ethical implications.

The symposium is intended both for qualified neurosurgeons with significant operative experience, and for those at an earlier stage in their training. It will be held in the historic and romantic city of Verona, and will include a dinner held on the shores of spectacular Lake Garda.
